Explore Printmaking | Term Four, 2024

Every term we explore at least five different print techniques. Have a go at making your own original prints.
You will be able to follow the class presentations on a different technique each week through the term or use the class to develop one idea or theme.
A great class if you are fascinated by the printing process and are keen to learn how to get started.

Content

This term we will be making our own silk screen prints, exploring mono type printing using plastic plates and our presses, learning to make and use a gel plate, making sun prints (cyanotypes) and dry point printing. We will cover the collaborative aspect of working creatively and learn about signing and recording the work you make.

Objectives

* Learn your way around a print studio and how to use the equipment
* Explore materials and processes through the print-making genre
* Learn about a range of different print-making techniques
* Explore, in more detail, printmaking techniques that interest you
* Develop a collection of works produced through your exploration

Outcomes

* Ability to use equipment safely and effectively
* Ability to produce a range of prints using different techniques
* Knowledge of how to use found and everyday items to make prints
* Knowledge of how to adapt and use your own artworks from other areas to make prints
