Our Kids and Teens Art Classes are hands-on, fun, and designed to spark imagination in young artists of all ages - from primary through to secondary school.

Whether your child is homeschooled or joining us after school, each session offers a dynamic mix of creative activities, including clay work, painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, fabric art, and printmaking. Every week, students explore new materials and techniques, creating unique and expressive artworks that reflect their individual style and skill level.

Our experienced tutor Naomi creates a supportive and inspiring environment where all learners can thrive. She adapts each project to suit different abilities - no experience is needed, and for those who are more experienced, Naomi provides extension opportunities to help deepen their skills and creative thinking.

Whether your child is a budding artist or simply loves to make and create, they’ll build confidence, develop artistic skills, and have a great time doing it.

 Creative fun for kids aged 5-10!

Our Young Artists After School Class is a playful and engaging way for children to explore their creativity in a hands-on environment.

Each week, kids will dive into exciting art activities like clay modelling, painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, fabric art, and printmaking. They'll get to experiment with different materials and techniques while creating imaginative, one-of-a-kind artworks that reflect their growing skills and ideas. Whether they’re shaping clay, painting colourful scenes, or trying out fun new textures and tools, your child will build confidence, develop creative thinking, and most importantly, have a blast!
 
No experience needed - just curiosity and imagination!

Give your child the chance to explore their imagination in our fun and hands-on Homeschool Art Class!
 
Designed specifically for home-educated young artists, this weekly class offers a rich mix of creative and educational activities, including clay work, painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, fabric art, and printmaking. 
Every Tuesday, students will explore a variety of materials and techniques to create unique and imaginative masterpieces, all tailored to their individual skill levels and interests. Whether they're moulding with clay, painting bold canvases, or experimenting with printmaking, your child will build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy expressing themselves through art in a supportive and inspiring environment.
 
No experience needed - we welcome all levels of creativity!

Nurture your tween’s creativity after school!

Our Afterschool Art Programme is the perfect way for artists aged 10 - 14 years to wind down, explore their imagination, and build creative confidence. Each week, they'll dive into a new hands-on activity - from clay work and painting to drawing, 3D sculpture, fabric art, and printmaking. Designed specifically for tweens, the programme encourages self-expression while developing fine motor skills, creative thinking, and a love for making art.  Whether your child is already passionate about art or just wants to try something new, they’ll have a great time experimenting with different materials, learning new techniques, and proudly bringing home their unique creations.
 
No experience is needed - our programme is designed to suit all levels of creativity, with projects adapted to support and challenge each child at their own pace.

For teens who need a creative outlet (not more homework)!

Our Teens After School Art Class is a relaxed, welcoming space where creative teens can unwind, express themselves, and make art that’s true to who they are. It’s not about rules or perfection - it’s about exploring, experimenting, and discovering what they love. Whether your teen is already a confident artist or just starting out, this class is for all levels. No experience is needed, and those with a creative background will find plenty of inspiration and room to grow.
 
Every week, students explore different materials and techniques - like clay, 3D sculpture, painting, drawing, fabric, and printmaking - to create imaginative, one-of-a-kind pieces, tailored to their skill level and interests. Our tutor Naomi is all about encouraging individuality and creative freedom. She supports each student’s unique direction, nurturing both technical growth and self-expression in a way that feels empowering and fun.
 It’s a place to build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the creative process - whatever their starting point.

Kids' Holiday Programme and Children's Art Classes: Terms & Conditions

All families must complete a registration form, enrolment agreement and safety form via Enrolmy before the child can participate in our Kids Art Holiday Programme, or our term time after school and homeschool art classes. It is the parent’s/caregiver’s responsibility to inform TLC of the child’s medical history and any other information necessary to provide proper care for your child. Please note that by registering your child with our Kids Art Programmes, you are also consenting to your child being transported, if needed, in an emergency.

Please note that your booking is confirmed only once payment has been made.

WINZ OSCAR subsidies (available for holiday programme only)
Our Kids Art Holiday Programme is OSCAR approved, meaning that there are WINZ subsidies available if you need help meeting costs. Please visit https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/products/a-z-benefits/oscar-subsidy.html for more information. Please note that OSCAR subsidy forms will need to be sent to us prior to the holiday programme starting, to ensure they can be processed. 

Free Trials (available for after school and homeschool classes only)

You can book a free trial class for our term time after school and homeschool classes. Please note that booking a free trial does not guarantee a spot in the class. If you are certain you want to attend for the term, please book and pay for your child before the class fills up.

Belongings
TLC takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to children’s property while in our Kids’ Art Programmes.

Cancellation Policy
All classes need a minimum number to go ahead. Please note: Parents/Caregivers must give 24 hours notice if their child will not be attending booked sessions. Failure to do this will mean the full fee for days booked will still be charged. If a class is cancelled, we will let you know as soon as possible prior to the scheduled start date. If this happens, you may transfer to another available class, or you will be offered a credit, or a refund. 

Privacy and Information Sharing
The information collected within this enrolment form is for the purposes of establishing and maintaining appropriate records required for The Learning Connexion (TLC) to provide our Kids Art Programmes. Information collected will be managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, the Childrens Act 2014, The Children, Young Persons and their Families act 1989, and other relevant legislation. Information collected by us may be accessed by TLC staff, the Ministry of Social Development, relevant Government departments and other Audit organisations such as Te Kahui Kahu Social Services Accreditation. All personal information provided is kept confidential and is only accessible to our Kids Art Programme staff.  In the event that information is requested by an external party for audit purposes (e.g. in relation to OSCAR or health and safety requirements), all identifying information is redacted. You may view your child’s and family’s information at any time by accessing your account via your Enrolmy Parent Portal and you can directly correct or update any information on your account.
