Study Art and Creativity from the comfort of home
Enrol Now
The Learning Connexion offers a flexible and supportive study from home option for students anywhere in New Zealand.
Distance delivery means you will learn to draw, paint, sculpt, design and create from the comfort of your own home and receive one-on-one tutoring from one of our skilled mentors, all of whom are practicing artists.
Studying from home gives you the flexibility to maintain your current lifestyle without the pressure of travel and the conformity of traditional class structure. Communication with your mentor can be through Skype, phone, email, social media or written feedback – whatever suits your needs.
We have students and graduates across New Zealand, many of whom have developed their art into a sustainable practice.
"I enjoyed the flexibility of TLC, both with types of art and with styles of studying. It's a good place to figure out under which conditions your particular creative process flourishes."
Rose Campbell
Staying connected from home
Studying creativity at your own pace and in your own environment does wonders for your mental wellbeing. Hands-on experimental learning is proven to enhance problem-solving skills, while also reducing anxiety.
"I loved the whole package – every task, every exercise, every project was a joy and a wonder for me, I was like a kid in a candy store! Art was like breathing, something that I naturally did every day to feel and stay alive. I explored different subject matter, different materials, different techniques."
While studying from home you can stay connected with other students through our thriving online community, The Learning Connexion Workroom, and our social media pages. We also share regular student updates, exhibitions, workshops, artist talks and art demonstrations.
"I love the flexibility of distance delivery study. I have a busy life and distance delivery enables me to build my study around family commitments, a full-time job, and going to the gym."
Brendan Martin
Freedom without constraints
In our post-Covid world, more and more people are choosing to study or work from home. And it makes sense – it's better for the environment, it's great for your mental health and it gives you more time and freedom for the things important to you.
"I’m influenced by my imagination and emotions. I draw inspiration from my children, and by forms, shapes and textures found in many things including nature and the beautiful mountains that surround me at home in Albert Town in the Southern Alps. I love the freedom to explore and experiment with my creativity without constraints."
