Frank Davis Scholarship

Frank Davis was Head of the Art Department at Palmerston North Teachers College (now Massey College of Education) from 1963 until his death in 1983.

Frank’s influence has been of lasting importance to three senior people at The Learning Connexion – Managing Director Jonathan Milne, Director Alice Wilson-Milne and Peter Adsett. All studied art with Frank Davis during their time at Teachers College.

The Frank Davis Scholarship is an annual grant that is given to assist students in their study at The Learning Connexion. It is open to current and prospective students and is based on commitment, potential and questioning conventional art practice within your work.

Applications for the Frank Davis Scholarship will open again in October 2025

"Studying at TLC part-time over the last five years has been an amazing journey from beginning to end. Discovering my potential and diversity through exploration, invention, researching and transitioning between mediums, my personal drive and the amazing freedom to forge a path forward.

I was really keen to have a better work-life balance as I hit my 50s. It was the best decision I made for myself."
