This open studio class is for students with previous experience in bronze casting and knife making.
Challenge yourself with new, more complex projects, delve deeper into a specific aspect of casting or knife making, investigate your connection with material, process, narrative, concept and composition.

Content

* Develop your own brief and apply your previous knowledge
* New research and tutor and peer feedback to create new work or complete existing projects

Objectives

Develop deeper understanding and competency with your creative practice relating to bronze casting and knife making.

Outcomes

Students will create strong new work through supported extension of their creative practice in areas of interest and value to the student.

  • Materials cost: $15.00 class materials fee for casting and knife making consumables.
    Casual Students: $630.00 + materials

Required Materials:
Please bring a visual diary and any specific knife making materials, if applicable. Leaf spring and coil spring, and some hardwood offcuts are available to use for knife making (free of charge).
Knife makers in advanced class need to purchase their own lpg gas bottles - to be paid for at Admissions.
