Make paintings that are lively, unpredictable and exciting to both create and look at!

We will use experimentation and process to generate ideas and new ways of working.
Aim for positive outcomes and resolution to problems that are preventing you from achieving satisfactory results.
You'll find your way of working to make surprising discoveries with paint.

  • Materials cost: Allow a minimum of $50 for materials over the term
    Casual Students: $630.00 + materials

Required Materials:
* Bring scissors, HB and 6B pencils
* Acrylic paint is required from the start. You'll have watercolour options for later in the term
* Oil paint ok for later in term
* Colours - medium yellow, ultramarine and pthalo blue, Alizarin Crimson, yellow ochre, Cadmium Red, burnt umber, black, white - also ... include any of your favourite colours or brands
* Brushes - mix of bristle and synthetic hair - from large 3 inch, medium 1 inch to small
* Heavy cartridge paper for painting on. Panels or canvas for later in the term
* Please note, we will discuss material needs at the beginning of the class
* Brown paper is available and free
