Sculpture

Explore the exciting world of sculpture in this hands-on, practical class, designed for students of all levels.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and mixed media assemblage.
Whether you choose to carve, assemble, or combine materials, this class offers the tools and guidance needed to bring your ideas to life.

The process often starts with sketching your concept and creating a small 3D version (a 'maquette'), to refine your vision and plan your approach. But if you prefer, you can dive straight into combining materials to craft mixed-media sculptures, using creative techniques to join and balance the elements in your design.

Your experienced Toi Kaiako will provide practical advice and technical support, ensuring you have the skills to use the tools safely and effectively. They’ll support you through each step and help you achieve the results you want.

By the end of the class, you’ll gain confidence in sculptural techniques, an understanding of material properties, and work that reflects your creative flair. This class offers a rewarding exploration of sculptural art and is suitable for all tauira.
