You're free to focus on class exercises or develop your own ideas - all the while gaining confidence in communicating your artistic vision.
You’ll develop essential skills for depicting people and places with accuracy and expression. We'll explore topics such as faces, figures, character design and perspective, and also tackle more challenging concepts like foreshortening. You choose the approach and style that interests you, whether that's aiming for realism or exploring a more stylised feel.
We'll work mainly with pencil and paper (digital devices are welcome too), and develop your skills with structured exercises. You're also encouraged to bring your own ideas and projects, and will get personalized feedback and support to enhance your work from your Toi Kaiako.
