Jewellery
Monday and Wednesday
In this practical class you'll come away with original jewellery you created! The class is suitable for developing foundation skills, or expanding your expertise with advanced techniques. Under the guidance of your expert Toi Kaiako, you'll boost your creativity while highlighting studio safety and craftsmanship.
Printmaking
Monday and Thursday
This hands-on class explores various printmaking techniques, including woodcut, drypoint, gel plate printing, collagraph, and screen-printing. You'll be able to create your own unique designs, gain technical skills and develop problem solving strategies. Build both a portfolio of unique prints and confidence in your creative journey!
Painting
Monday and Wednesday
Come and play with paint! We'll explore different types of paint and painting techniques in this hands-on class. You'll see demonstrations of technical skills and explore a variety of painting styles, from expressive to detailed. We'll help you loosen up, gain confidence and refine your skills. Not sure where to start? Our Toi Kaiako will guide you through the process of creating a painting from start to finish, allowing you to bring your creative vision to life.
Illustration
Wednesday
Bring your creative ideas to life in this structured illustration class! From term to term we'll explore topics such as perspective, anatomy and character design with step-by-step guidance and demos by your Toi Kaiako. You're free to focus on class exercises or develop your own ideas - all the while gaining confidence in communicating your artistic vision.
Mixed Media Sculpture

Create sculptures using a range of different materials in this practical class. Learn to sketch ideas, craft maquettes, and work toward your final piece with expert guidance. Suitable for all tauira, this course develops your skills, confidence, and creative vision and encourages you to explore various materials and techniques.
Digital Art-Making
Thursday
Let your imagination run wild! Explore digital art by creating characters and locations, moving from initial sketches to finished artwork. Try combining digital painting with photo manipulation software using your own device or our TLC compupters. Your Toi Kaiako will guide you with demonstrations, tips and advice on projects. Some familiarity with computers is recommended to get the most from this fun and inspiring class.
Dry Media
Thursday
Explore the world of dry media! Play with oil pastels, soft pastels, charcoal, and ink in this experimental class. Mix, layer, and combine media using sponges, brushes, and fingers. Discover material properties and try working on different surfaces. We'll also learn how to finish and present your work. Embrace creativity, get messy, and develop your unique artistic style!
