Diploma of Art and Creativity (Honours)

Mason Ward

This is a two and a half year full-time, (five years part-time), NZQA level 6 programme.

Within this programme are three qualifications, each of which can also be exit levels. The first six months, leads to the Certificate of Art and Creativity (NZQA level 4). The following year, leads to the Diploma of Art and Creativity (NZQA level 5) and a final year, completes the Diploma of Art and Creativity (Honours), (NZQA level 6) qualification.

The focus is on independent exploration and creative process. Working closely with tutors, students set and complete their own briefs, building a coherent body of work.
The work reveals the emergence of a personal style, technical fluency which connects with this style, self-direction and an increased understanding of how art connects with the wider world. Students will be vigorously participating in school exhibitions and moving beyond the school to share their work by way of group shows and publications.

This programme can be completed full-time or part-time, either on-site at our Taita (Wellington) campus, or anywhere in the world through distance delivery. Download a programme outline.
