Casual Study

On-site weekend, evening, block and main classes are available to people who are not enrolled in our formal qualifications. Casual students are able to register for both short and main classes. Placement is subject to availability. To see a list of classes currently offered please see here.

Short Classes

The Learning Connexion offers:
Main classes which run one full day per week for seven weeks throughout the term
Evening classes which run for seven weeks throughout the term
Weekend classes each weekend during the term for seven weeks
Block classes which run for one week at the beginning and end of each term

Class fees and Registration

  • A Main class will cost $525 per class for seven days of classes over seven weeks of the term
  • A Block class will cost $375 per class of five days
  • A Weekend class will cost $75 per day (classes run over two days unless otherwise indicated)
  • An Evening class will cost $265 for seven evenings each term

Enrolled students can register for these classes as part of their study options. No additional payments are required for these classes other than for materials.

We now have weekend class gift vouchers available to purchase from our Materials Shop. It’s a great gift idea, give someone the gift of creativity!

Refer a friend
Past and current students (and staff) can be a referee for a friend or family member, entitling them to a 50% discount on the fees for a weekend class.

What to do 
The person who wants to attend a class contacts Programme Support via email or phone. At that time, they need to provide the name of the person who has referred them for the discount. They will then be booked into the class at full price. (0800 ARTPOWER or ps@tlc.ac.nz) • The referee then needs to contact Programme Support to verify the referral (either in person or via email). Once that is done, the discount will be applied. Available for terms one and two, 2012. Please note Materials cost is separate and is not discounted. See a list of weekend classes here.
