Welcome to Wellington, New Zealand and The Learning Connexion, International School of Art and Creativity. TLC is more than an international art school, it is a creative community which will transform your art and transform your life.

TLC is the largest arts and creativity school in New Zealand. It is privately owned. We teach NZQA approved programmes up to University degree level, across many popular fine and contemporary art media– from video to bronze-casting, computer graphics to painting.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, you can study our art and creativity programmes on-site and from home via our distance delivery (extramural) programme. We also offer both full-time and part-time programmes.

Student Profile - Marilyn Hunter

Diploma student Marilyn Hunter flew half way around the world to attend TLC. She’d experienced personal tragedy and studying art and creativity was a positive way to move forward with her life and to develop her own interests. A friend suggested she come out to New Zealand and study at TLC.

She was attracted to TLC’s structured classes. With their focus on developing skills at an individual level, Marilyn has been able to explore a variety of options. She’s also enjoyed the great mix of students at TLC and has found the environment to be very accepting. New Zealand is a beautiful country and Wellington, especially, has a great creative community.

At 62 Marilyn says, “It’s worth remembering that it’s never too late to try something new; you’re never too old for anything.” Her goal now is to work as a full-time artist. At the moment, though, she is simply enjoying the journey.
