Keith Grinter

MFA

For his Master of Art and Design degree Keith developed a technique of drawing while walking (kinetic drawings) and construction of those drawings in recycled timber.

For his BFA he developed the techniques for painting and blowing glass. His current glass work uses kinetic drawings as a basis for the painted glass vessels. Many of these works are influenced by art history. His current work, for example, extrapolates from early Renaissance paintings about the life of St. Francis of Assisi. These ideas are also being interpreted as large oil paintings. As a result of ideas developed during the CTFAC introduction at TLC Keith is developing a form of sculpture using cardboard, tissue paper and shellac. The first of these works is an aeroplane based on the 1911 planes used in the movie ‘Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines’.
