TLC Short classes Nov 14 – 15
We still have some places available for this weekend’s sessions (November 14 – 15).
Painting intuitively
with Catherine Hayes
Are you new to painting or perhaps want a fresh approach? This fun weekend course revolves around drawing out images from our initial marks – much like the surrealists did. We will work with paint and old credit cards, stamping into our paintings to make texture, letting them dry and then seeing what we can make from them.
In addition we can design and make our own stamps which have personal significance.
Modelling form and space
with Perry Scott
We are directly aware of form and space by the simple experience of living. In the absence of a figurative model, our start point will be the material qualities of clay or plastalina from which you will make pieces using your innate knowledge and intuition. Join the group and enjoy two days trusting your own process and curiosity, exploring form and material free of any representational objective.
Getting started on a blog for beginners
with Steffen Kreft
This weekend class is aimed specifically at students who want to go over some of the basics of using a computer if you are an artist. We’ll teach you how to navigate your way around, get your files onto the computer, manipulate images and get them on the internet.
The goal of the class will be to make a Flickr photosharing site, a blog and readying images for it. We’ll cover a lot of what will be helpful to know if you want to email images to galleries and get your work out there via the net.
This course is also ideal for students who are struggling in a computer or video class, or who want to take one of those classes but need to go over the basics first.
We will be using the TLC mac suite but you are welcome to bring your own computers to work on if you choose to.
