Portraits of our age

James Parker @ Manky Chops
In November of 2008, Wellington artist James Parker had his first solo exhibition at Manky Chops Gallery on Cuba Street. The show was mainly portraits in oil paint featuring businessmen, politicians and chimpanzees. James’ work has political undertones, it’s a social comment on modern life: “We have forgotten how to live.”
We rocked up to the gallery with our camera and interviewed him about the work, process and putting the show together.
