Hutt Valley locals flock to TLC’s new Taita Campus

Since moving to our Taita campus this year, The Learning Connexion is proving to be an irresistible attraction to the Hutt Valley wildlife, of both the two and six legged variety.
There has been an almost 50% increase in Hutt Valley residents coming onboard to study Art and Creativity since the move from Wellington to Lower Hutt in January, with local people keen to come onsite and use our new facilities as well as utilizing the option to work from home and pop in for the occasional course.
The campus sits on 10 acres of native bush, with its own pond and a variety of birds and wildlife. The extensive and colorful mural which covers the entire building at the front of the campus has also been warming a new type of resident – the relentlessly cheerful cicada. Multitudes of shiny bodied cicadas decorate the building, enjoying the sunshine while using the opportunity to sing a love song or two to potential mates, as well as posing shamelessly for their portrait paintings with TLC students.
Thus, The Learning Connexion can safely count the transition from Wellington City to Hutt Valley to be successful, opening the door to local students, entertaining wildlife, and generally making the most of a colorful and inspiring campus.
